concrete dreams.

The Penrose Park Velodrome is an outdoor concrete velodrome in a City of St. Louis park. Originally constructed in 1962, it underwent resurfacing in 1984, partial repairs in 2005, and received a brand new concrete surface in 2019. The track is 322 meters long, (originally measured at 1/5th of a mile). The track is open during daylight hours in dry weather all year long. There are limited facilities at the track but riders are always welcome. Race events and structured training are held routinely, see the events calendar for details, or the facebook page for more timely updates. For 2023 events are again managed by the Rise Above Cycling team. Our thanks goes to the City of St. Louis who owns the velodrome, and has helped continue a history of track cycling in the community that goes back to the 1890’s.

Cars are not permitted on the track or in the track infield at any time. If training alone, please park to the north of the track along the access road.
